Faculty Activity Report Webform

Project Overview:

Led the digitization of the Faculty Activity Report (FAR) submission process for UBC Sauder, which involved hundreds of annual submissions from staff and faculty detailing their teaching activities, including scholarships, courses taught, research grants, and hours worked.
Transitioned from traditional hand-filled PDF submissions to a fully automated webform system.

Webform Implementation:

Initially partnered with the web manager, later taking the lead role in developing and customizing a sustainable webform solution using Drupal.
Extensive front-end and back-end customization was necessary, including database setup and authentication methods to ensure secure access and data storage.

Challenges & Solutions:

The project involved multiple years of improvements and enhancements, addressing both technical requirements and user needs.
Coordinated staff training and provided ongoing technical support to ensure a smooth transition and effective use of the new system.

Outcome:

The FAR system now operates sustainably, eliminating manual submissions. Faculty can easily submit their reports, and the collected data can be analyzed for valuable insights, streamlining the overall process.
